OmniFocus Widget

Inspired by Scotty Jackson’s great work, I created an OmniFocus widget with WidgetPack, which allows you to build custom widgets with iOS Shortcuts.

There are some drawbacks compared to the built-in widgets: it doesn’t automatically update—you have to rerun the shortcut or setup a personal automation to do so. The shortcut takes some time to execute. Links from the widget open WidgetPack first before opening OmniFocus.

But, there are some advantages too. For one, you can dynamically change what the widget displays when it is updated (for example, I have work tasks set to show only during regular business hours). The OmniFocus Find Items action also has some options like date ranges that are not available in Perspectives. I think it looks pretty nice too. Enjoy!
